Will NICE Community School District have a snow day?

How much snow it takes here

Marquette County averages 153 inches of snow a year, and its average winter temperature is 18.5°F (NOAA 1991–2020 normals). Schools in places like this typically close at a foot or more of snow, sooner if there is ice or the snow falls during the morning commute. Bitter wind chills can close schools here too.

Where to check for an official closing

Only NICE Community School District can close its schools. Districts usually post closings and delays on their website and social media, send texts, emails or robocalls to families, and report them to local TV and radio stations, often by 5:30 or 6 a.m. The district office's number is (906)485-1021.
