How much snow it takes here
Essex County averages 78.6 inches of snow a year, and its average winter temperature is 18.4°F (NOAA 1991–2020 normals). Schools in places like this typically close at a foot or more of snow, sooner if there is ice or the snow falls during the morning commute. Bitter wind chills can close schools here too.
